The Jubilee of Penny Postage
The Guildhall
South Kensington

The South Kensington Conversazione offered the visitor of the Conversazione at the Guiildhall on 16th May another opportunity for creating interesting postal items.

Not only are the Guldhall 'handback' and the South Kensington cancels present, but the creator obtained a poor strike of the Eddystone Lighthouse cancel from the Royal Navy of 1891.

On this Guildhall card, in addition to a P-4-10 cancel of 16th May, are three of the South Kensington cancels. Both past and future 'Post Offices' and the current exhibition [small size] cancel were obtained. As they are not on the South Kensington Envelope, a charge of 1 d each would have had to be paid. There would have been no charge made for the Guildhall cancel.
