Mr. R. C. Tombs in the published "Account" of the Penny Postage Jubilee, for the South Kensington section states:

The demand for postal orders was not so great as at the Guildhall, only twenty having been issued, and those were for small amounts only. It is probable these orders will be retained as souvenirs and never be cashed. Five orders only were paid.

The total of money orders issued was 157, the majority being for 1d. None were presented for payment.
