The complete text of the Summons


THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA,
TO THE SHERIFF OF Prince William COUNTY, GREETING;
WE command you to summon Mary F. Spence,
to appear at the rules, to be held in the Clerk's Office of our Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery of the county of Loudon, at the Court-house of the said county, on the first Monday in December next, to answer a bill in Chancery exhibited against her & others in the said court by John Brown, Wilfred Troutbeck and Mary, his wife, David Walker and Agnes, his wife, and William Brown -
And unless She shall answer said bill within four months thereafter, the court will take the same for confessed, and decree accordingly. And this She shall in no wise omit under the penalty of 100. And have then there this writ.
Witness WILLIAM A. POWELL, Clerk of our said Circuit Superior Court, at the Court-house aforesaid, the 1st day of October 1838 and in the 63 year of the commonwealth.
